Sustainability

At the Model Village we are conscious of our environment and we are committed to ongoing improvements that move us towards supporting and protecting the local community, economy and environment in a meaningful way.

Wherever we can we reduce, reuse and recycle – and encourage our visitors to do the same.

Our team have received training on the Isle of Wight Biosphere. The Isle of Wight was awarded Biosphere Reserve status by UNESCO in 2019, only the seventh place in the UK to achieve this. It is a recognition of the unique combination of nature, people and places we have here, where communities and the environment work together in an increasingly sustainable way. We would encourage you to visit us in a sustainable way and here is how you can reach us on foot, by bus or by bike

How do I find you?

The Model Village is situated on the High Street in Godshill. This is the A3020 Newport to Shanklin road. We are the big white house on the corner of the High Street.

On foot…

Godshill sits amongst some fabulous footpaths so you can drop into to see us from a myriad of directions!  For GPS lovers use 50° 37′ 58.6344″ N, 1° 15′ 17.8236″ W.

On the bus…

We are on bus routes 2 & 3 so you can take a leisurely journey on a Southern Vectis bus from Newport, Shanklin or Ryde.  Check out www.islandbuses.info for timetables.

On your bike…

Follow the Cycle track from Cowes, Newport, Shanklin or Sandown and turn off to Godshill!  You will also find us if you hop off the Bicycle Island Red Squirrel Trail. We also offer secure places to park your bike in the garden. Just ask when you arrive and we will accommodate you.
